Hard Rock Cafe Sacramento honors local entertainment icon Mark S Allen with the Allen Jalapeno Burger in the month of April
Allen held the Guinness Book World Record for eating jalapenos in one minute in 2005
(Wheatland, Calif.) – Hard Rock Café Sacramento at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain continued their monthly “celebrity burger” program recognizing local personalities here in Northern California. For April, local movie director/producer, Emmy-winning TV personality and entertainment critic, Mark S. Allen, will be honored with a custom burger.
Mark S. Allen is known for his fun, yet informative and thoughtful reporting and has logged over 30,000 hours of live local broadcasting, the last seven years on ABC 10. Allen also loves food, especially spicy food, and has the accolades to prove it. In 2005, he challenged an existing Guinness Book World Record for the number of pickled jalapenos consumed in one minute and BEAT it, eating 11 of the spicy delicacy. He is often tapped by various local charities to enter food eating contests or cooking contests all in good fun and healthy competition. He has produced seven major motion pictures released worldwide and with his latest one, “Amy’s F-It List” which had its Hollywood premiere in February, he also made his directorial debut. Allen is a founding member of the Critics’ Choice Awards.
Allen worked closely with Hard Rock Sacramento Executive Chef Ray Leung on a burger customized to his favorite flavors. The Mark S. Allen Burger features a fresh 8 oz. hand-ground beef patty, slices of fresh jalapeno, a slice of Panko-crusted pineapple, a slice of sharp Cheddar cheese, lots of crisp lettuce, garlic-Habanero aioli, all within a freshly baked Brioche bun.

Allen is such an icon of fun and community support across the region,” explained Mark Birtha, President of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain. “Given his love of food contests and promotions, we are honored to have him join our celebrity burger program for the month of April.”
After a year of running this program, Hard Rock Sacramento will donate to the charity of choice to the celebrity that has the highest monthly burger sales.
