The Black Eyed Peas

Rapper apl.de.ap teamed up with will.i.am in 1988 to form a group that would become the Black Eyed Peas and was a major part of the hip hop crew’s global success. On display at Hard Rock Sacramento you will find his military-style outfit that he wore on stage while touring Japan in 2010.

will.i.am

Black Eyed Peas frontman, will.i.am wore this Parasuco jacket, now on display, in the video for “Don’t Lie” from the group’s multi-platinum 2005 album Monkey Business. As the guiding force behind the Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am conquered the hip hop world and quickly branched out as a producer, actor, and entrepreneur.

Fergie

When pop singer Fergie joined the Black Eyed Peas in 2003, she helped catapult the rap crew to global megastardom. She parlayed that success into a huge solo career with the release of The Dutchess in 2008. On display you will find Fergie’s trench coat that was worn in the video for the album’s smash single “Glamorous”.

Whitney Houston

In 2012, the music world lost one of the greatest voices of all time – Whitney Houston. Much more than just a talented artist, Whitney changed the face of pop music and every contemporary female singer is, to some degree, influenced by her. She set the standard for vocal virtuosity in the pop field and is one of the biggest-selling artists in history. Included in Hard Rock Sacramento’s memorabilia, you will find Whitney’s outfit that she wore on stage in the ‘90s.

Diana Ross

Motown icon Diana Ross wore this dress during her tour in support of the soundtrack from the 1975 film Mahogany, now found at Hard Rock Sacramento. Intended as a star vehicle for Diana, Mahogany was a troubled production, but has since become a cult classic.

Tommy Lee – Mötley Crüe

Hard Rock Sacramento is proud to have on display, the completely over-the-top jumpsuit worn by Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee during the band’s 1984 Shout at the Devil tour. The album was the group’s commercial breakthrough and established Mötley Crüe as the preeminent heavy metal act of the 1980s.

Bruce Springsteen

Enjoy suede cowboy boots on display at Hard Rock Sacramento. These boots were owned and worn by the one and only Bruce Springsteen during the early ‘80s. He later gifted them to his guitar tech, Michael Batlan, before they made their way to Sacramento. Michael is famous among Springsteen aficionados as the roadie who purchased the little cassette machine Bruce famously used to record the Nebraska album.

Eddie Van Halen – Van Halen

Easily one of the most important and influential rock guitarists of all time, Eddie Van Halen essentially reinvented the instrument for generations of rock fans. His shadow still looms over every electric guitarist on Earth. Now located at the Hard Rock Sacramento memorabilia, you’ll find Eddie’s Charvel guitar that was used to play on stage when Van Halen performed in Atlantic City, New Jersey on March 24th, 2012.

In addition to his memorable guitar at Fire Mountain, you’ll find a stunning Harley Davidson Softail, customized for Eddie Van Halen by Carlini Cycle Creations. Eddie only put 811 miles on the odometer before deciding four wheels suited him better than two. He signed the gas tank and auctioned it off in 2004.

Elvis Presley

The King was a passionate practitioner of martial arts and even earned an 8th-degree black belt over his years of study. On display you’ll find his patriotic karate gi, which he owned and wore in 1974. Elvis personally paid for the U.S. martial arts team to travel to Europe that year and outfitted the entire team with elaborate uniforms like the one you’ll find at Hard Rock Sacramento.

Bette Midler

She started out in the ‘60s as a theater performer and nightclub singer (with a pre-fame Barry Manilow as her accompanist), but Bette Midler quickly rose to superstardom as one of the most unique and exciting song interpreters of the 20th century. At Fire Mountain you’ll be able to take in the beauty of her stylish dress, custom-tailored by legendary designer Bob Mackie. Fun fact, her daughter used the pumpkin purse as a candy bag on Halloween night for many years.

Lady Gaga

Quite possibly the single most naturally talented pop artist of the 21st century, Lady Gaga has effortlessly moved from genre to genre throughout her career, enjoying massive success in everything she’s done. Hard Rock Sacramento is proud to hold onto her neoprene dress. This amazing piece of clothing was designed by Rebecca Short, exhibited at London Fashion Week, and then worn by Lady Gaga in 2011.

KISS

When the rock ‘n’ roll superheroes of KISS took the stage in San Antonio, Texas on August 5th, 2012, the “Punisher” bass was Gene Simmons’s weapon of choice, and is now on display at Fire Mountain. He signed and donated it to the Hard Rock collection personally. You don’t want to miss this piece of history at our memorabilia!

Stevie Nicks

Another amazing piece on display at the Hard Rock is the stunning outfit that was worn on stage by Stevie Nicks while performing with Fleetwood Mac during the group’s 1987- 1988 Tango in the Night tour. The album of the same name was the 14th release in the legendary band’s long career and spawned the hits “Big Love” and “Little Lies”.

Gwen Stefani – No Doubt

No Doubt frontwoman and solo megastar Gwen Stefani wore her famous leotard on stage while performing with the ska/pop legends, now on display at the Hard Rock. Emerging from Anaheim and the fertile Orange County punk scene in the ‘80s, “No Doubt” hit the mainstream with their multi-platinum third album Tragic Kingdom, in 1992.

MC Hammer

Though his popularity has waxed and waned over the years, Oakland native MC Hammer is finally getting his due as a true pioneer of hip hop. A gifted rapper and dancer, Hammer’s success was hard-earned and well-deserved with massive hits like “U Can’t Touch This” and “2 Legit 2 Quit”. Enjoy a dedicated section at the Hard Rock Sacramento memorabilia, showcasing his stylish outfit that he wore in the video for his 1990 hit “Dancin’ Machine”.

Jerry Garcia – Grateful Dead

On display at our memorabilia you’ll find the Hawaiian shirt that belonged to the late, great Jerry Garcia. Few artists in history have inspired the level of loyalty and obsession that Jerry and the Grateful Dead instilled in their millions of fans. Being a Deadhead is much more than fandom – it’s an all-encompassing lifestyle. During their reign, the Grateful Dead performed many times in Sacramento throughout their long career, including multiple appearances at Cal Expo in Sacramento.

Tupac Shakur

West Coast Rap icon Tupac Shakur wrote a letter to a young woman named Simi Chouhan while incarcerated at New York’s Dannemora Prison in 1995, which is now on display at the Hard Rock at Fire Mountain. Tupac was clearly infatuated with Ms. Chouhan and he wrote her dozens of letters, filled with noteworthy poems, while locked up. As one of the most legendary wordsmiths in hip hop, a handwritten Tupac poem is special indeed.

Johnny Cash

One of the very few artists in history revered by music fans of every genre, Johnny Cash was the very definition of country music. His unique style and persona was a massive influence on contemporary music and his songs make up a huge part of the American folk lexicon. On display at Hard Rock Sacramento you’ll find the bib-front shirt that was owned and worn by Johnny himself.
